Guest drbuster Posted 23 October , 2004 Share Posted 23 October , 2004 I have had for some time a model 1911 Colt .45 auto that is marked on the right side of the slide: Capt. J.W. Warner Field Hospital29. This Colt was issued from the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia on or about Oct.22, 1914. Being a physician who served in the military, I am trying to discover if Capt. Warner was also a physician. I have checked all the local medical schools in the Philadelphia area..no J.W. Warner was found. I'm not even sure he was a doctor. Through the kind efforts of Neil Burns I have learned that the 29th Field Hospital was part of the 5th Army Division, AEF and was attached to a railroad unit. Thus it was a mobile hospital. Does anyone know or have access to personnel records from the Field Hospitals?
