SteveE Posted 25 October , 2004 Share Posted 25 October , 2004 Paul M.I.C = Medal Index Card, each soldier who qualified to receive campaign medals in WW1 had his own MIC which gave a certain amount of basic details like name, rank, service number, unit, medal entitlement, sometimes date of entry into a theatre of war and the occasional other remark, The Army Medal Office references for the campaign medals can be translated at the National Archives into actual Medal Roll entries which usually have a bit more information on them such as specific battalion etc. The National Archives search page for the MIC's online can be found Here I should add that the online MIC's are still not complete but details of what is available is on the NA website. Hope this helps Steve
