i am researching a Casualty who is listed by the CWWGC as having served in the KRRC but in SDGW is listed as serving in the Rangers,but is Affiliated to the KRRC,can any one clarify matters for me please,the Soldiers name is A.J. Gentry.

I would tend to believe CWGC as there are lots of mistakes in SDGW,but have you tried to get his MIC?

This could clarify things for you.

Looks like Kings Royal Rifle Corps to me.

The KRRC and the Rangers were connected.

The 12th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (The Rangers) were originally part of the Middlesex Rifle Volunteer Corps, for a brief period in the 1880s were a Volunteer Battalion of the KRRC. In 1916, the Rangers were 'transferred to the Corps of the KRRC'. In WW2, it constituted the 9th Battalion, KRRC.

So there is no real disconnect; it could just be slack annotation. My money is on him being a Ranger.
