edergole Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 Does anyone know the movements of 55 Field Company RE from Oct 14 through to Aug 15? Where they in Gallipoli? Thanks Joe
Terry_Reeves Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 55 Field Coy were part of 7th Division from October 1914 until 1st September 1915, when they were transferred to the Guards Division. They spent the whole of the war on the Western Front. Terry Reeves
edergole Posted 26 October , 2004 Author Share Posted 26 October , 2004 Thanks Terry, Thomas Simpson Esdale's (RE 13119 and according to MIC 55 Fd Coy) 1914 Star came into the possesion of the family of an RAMC Lt DoW Gallipoli. (possibly given by Esdales family to the Lt's). I was just exploring whether the two could have crossed paths on the battlefield but looks unlikely.
