tracing irish men

to all members of the forum,

i wish to thank them for all there help in tracking down information on the three men i was looking for.

in relation to the soldier william rountree he was in the 9th battalion of the royal irish fusiliers and died at the age of 22 on the date 9th june 1917. his service number was 23880. his parents name were william and elizabeth . he has no known grave and is mentioned on panel 42 at ypres memorial.

in relation to fred weir i have located to with members help one in the royal irish rifles and the other in the royal irish fusiliers. i have sent emails off to both museums to find out if they can tell which was from cavan.

in relation to frank finan , that is proceeding nicely.

to all the forum members old and new gold luck with there quests.

Do you still want the photo of Father Bergin? I have tried to e-mail it to you but it keeps bouncing back at me.
