Remembering Lance Corporal 9962 Victor James Ormerod - 1st Bn, King's Royal Rifle Corps - who died of wounds, aged 23, 100 years ago today.

Victor was the son of Elizabeth Ormerod, of 27 Northumberland Grove, Park Lane, Tottenham, London, and the late James Ormerod. He was born in Enfield, Middlesex, and later resided in Stratford, Essex. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the La Ferté-sous-Jouarre Memorial.

Immediately prior to his death 1st Bn, King's Royal Rifle Corps had been involved in fighting around Soupir, during the Battle of the Aisne.
