Guest Posted 11 October , 2014 Share Posted 11 October , 2014 Just thought I would flag this book. The last of a trilogy. The previous books are outstanding in my view. very well researched and I had no hesitation in taking the plunge on this. Released on 6th October. See here MG P.S. The Derbyshire Yeomanry gets mentioned twice which makes two more reasons to buy it.

RobL Posted 11 October , 2014 Share Posted 11 October , 2014 Is anyone who has it able to say how much there is on the artillery units, please?
Guest Posted 23 October , 2014 Share Posted 23 October , 2014 The book arrived today. Huzzah. In usual style the book has a mass of notes - all endnotes by chapter but consolidated at the end of the book rather than chapter ends. 40 pages worth out of 260 pages. To answer RobL's question - there are Chapters as follows: 1. The pre-War quest for Efficiency 2. The Territorial Force and the War Office 3. Mobilization Training and Embarkation 4. Acclimatization and Training Overseas 5. The Infantry's experience of Battle 6. The Experience of Other Arms 7. Command and Leadership 8. Drafts and the Loss of TF Identity. 9. Conclusion If the index is any indication, the Artillery TF is mentioned on 50 pages, or about 23% of the book. I will report back in a few days. 10 pages in and no regrets. He writes beautifully. paulgranger Posted 4 November , 2014 Share Posted 4 November , 2014 For those with a limited budget, but assuming they've got the technology, the book's now out in Kindle format at just over £34, which is still a fair bit, but half the price of the hardback.
