truthergw Posted 30 October , 2004 Share Posted 30 October , 2004 Hello everyone, I am along time user of the parent site but a new member of the forum. Having researched the short military career of my maternal grandfather, I am now embarked on the much more difficult task of my paternal grandfather's. He was wounded but returned home at the end of hostilities. I have his Regiment and his original number, it changed when he transferred to Labour Corps, probably because of the wound. I would like to know which battalion of the Seaforths he served in. This will give me a clue as to the action in which he was wounded. How do I turn name, rank, number and Regiment into a battalion? truthergw Posted 9 November , 2004 Author Share Posted 9 November , 2004 Thanks to Ivor, I now know that Pte Rutherford served in an Infantry Labour Coy and was transferred to The Labour Corps. Thanks to all who offered help and especially Ivor.
