Guest winstonsmith Posted 31 October , 2004 Share Posted 31 October , 2004 My great grandfather was Private John Harry Pate 102566. He served in the Machine gun Corps in the 8 Bn. He came from Padiham in Lancashire and died in the great German offensive of 1918. This is all the information I have on him except that He's burried at Namps-Au-Val If anybody can help me with any relevent information (age, area where he died or what army group he was with) I'd be most greatful. PhilB Posted 31 October , 2004 Share Posted 31 October , 2004 Am I right in assuming that 8Bn MGC would be permanently attached to the same Inf Div, possibly 8 Div? Phil B
