GreyC Posted 9 August , 2018 Share Posted 9 August , 2018 (edited) Hi thermostar, #1203=Willy Hädicke #1204 first photo is a rare one. It shows members of a Fernsprech-unit of the 267 Field Artillery Regiment within the 208th Division or members of the 267 FAR at a Fernsprech (Telephone) point. All units of the 208th Div. had cuff markings instead of numbers to make them harder to identify. @ Chris: #1208 not Polley. It´s Palley. Mr. Palley was the mayor of the city- The writer Emil was with Field Artillery Reg. 16 (FAR 16) #1209 1st photo Füsilier Regiment 35 from Brandenburg, Havel. 2nd Landsturm. 3rd: left Husar, right Ulane. In the middle: at least one guardsman, shoulderboards to small to call. GreyC Edited 9 August , 2018 by GreyC

I can´t read the 3rd line... Here are the battle-theatres of the Alpenkorps (in german language, I hope it´s ok for you): Gefechtskalender Alpenkorps.pdf (black: battles, green: commanders, blue: placed under command of, red: transports Edited 3 September , 2018 by The Prussian

JWK Posted 4 September , 2018 Share Posted 4 September , 2018 (edited) The place is Sand in Taufers in Southern Tirol, and for the location I'd put my money on Ansitz Neumelans ("Neumelans Castle") Edited 4 September , 2018 by JWK
The Prussian Posted 4 September , 2018 Share Posted 4 September , 2018 (edited) Great work JWK! That fits!!!!! It´ s an early photo. The regiment was under command of the Alpenkorps since May 27, 1915. Sand in Taufers is north of the final build-up line Bozen-Brixen-Sexten. So I´d say, the photo was taken around end of may/beginning june 1915. Edited 5 September , 2018 by The Prussian
