hedleywilliams Posted 4 November , 2004 Share Posted 4 November , 2004 Been a little while since I posted on my Grandfather, Pte 2123 AJ Williams of the 1/19 London Regiment and would appreciate any help on reading the medal card for Jack Next to Victory is says "Supp" ?? , then under Roll "LC/102" then Page 817 Under British it simply reads for roll and page "do do" Finally "15" preceeds Star and then it reads "LC/106C" and page "102/2" Additionally, next to Roll, it reads "Bg" Remarks show Class Z 20.2.19 which I think that reflects his discharge to reserves The card confirms that Grandpa's theatre of war was France with a date of entry of March 9th 1915 which matches the war diary so kindly provided by Charles Fair. GavinH Posted 4 November , 2004 Share Posted 4 November , 2004 The letters and numbers written next to the Victory Medal are the Medal Roll reference. The 'do do' next to the British War Medal means ditto, ie both medals were issued from the same roll. 'Supp' suggests it was a supplementry roll. I believe the LC part refers to the Labour Corps. Do you know if Alfred Williams transfered to this unit? Regards Gavin
