Jamie1906 Posted 4 November , 2004 Share Posted 4 November , 2004 This is George Nurse from Weybourne, Norfolk. Any ideas of his regiment? He survived the war. I have no other details of his military service, not even a regimental number! Jamie
DrB Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 It looks like he is wearing a dress tunic of the RE as there is a braid on his shoulder vice a shoulder strap. The collars are, of course, grenades, but I don't know if the OR's wore the "ubique" scroll underneath like the officers did. Doubtless someone else will know. Blackblue Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Do you know if he had a middle name Jamie? I believe the uniform may also be consistent with the Royal Artillery or perhaps even one of the fusiliers regiments. Try searching for him here: http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...y=*&queryType=1 Rgds Tim
