Steven Broomfield Posted 20 January , 2015 Share Posted 20 January , 2015 This title, by John Dixon, was on offer from Pen & Sword (£7.00 & p+p); it covers the fighting at Ypres in April/may 1915. Although I confess I had never heard of it before I have invested, as this is a series of battles currently interesting me. Does anyone have any views on this? Is my money well-spent? (Incidentally, I checked it on Amazon, and the paper version, as opposed to Kindle, is rocking in at north of £30 for some reason).
stevem49 Posted 20 January , 2015 Share Posted 20 January , 2015 I have a 2003 version in hardback. I found it useful and a pleasant read. Just realised I have a paperback copy as well!!. Could have let you have it for £6 including P&P )

4thGordons Posted 20 January , 2015 Share Posted 20 January , 2015 I too have the older version and thought it was decent coverage of an under-examined battle. Chris
Steven Broomfield Posted 21 January , 2015 Author Share Posted 21 January , 2015 If your money is well spent, you are getting something wrong. You're probably right, but I think you've finally revealed your identity. Are you my wife? And thanks to Steve and Chris: I shall await the postman's knock with interest. Steven Broomfield Posted 24 January , 2015 Author Share Posted 24 January , 2015 Arrived home from the conference at Newport (Mon), and the book was waiting. Looks interesting and satisfyingly large.
