SOMMESOLDIER Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Hi To You All, Could anyone please help with any information on Frederick Wilkinson 13186. He was killed on the 1st day of Messines 7-6-17. I believe he was awarded his MM for attacks on Ovilliers 12-15 July 1916 can anyone tell me how I can find out exactly what for. Any other information would be great. Cheers Tim.
John_Hartley Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Tim There's no mention of him in the Regimental History's account of the two attacks. Although I havnt looked up the events in the Battalion's War Diary, it is most unlikely that there will be any mention of him there either. "Other ranks" rarely get a mention by name even in circumstances like this. John
