redbarchetta Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 I know it's a long shot, and a sizeable imposition on anyone who has a copy of the Regimental History, but I have a piece of trench art made by, and signed by, a Sergeant W J Jackson, MM of the 16th Battery, RFA, 2nd Division. I've found him in the London Gazette - he was gazetted on 22nd Feb 1918, when he was actually only a Corporal. This is the first gallantry medal I've tried to research, but from things discussed on the Forum I understand the only chance of finding out what it was for would be if it happened to warrant a mention in the Division's history. If anyone has a copy and wouldn't mind flicking through the period September to November (ish) 1917 to see whether his award was mentioned, I would be eternally grateful - it would be a nice history to have with a piece of his craftwork !
