Just bought a pair of RE WW1 VM/WM with box of issue, untouched ribbons, a photo of the unit at Wantage Hall, postcards denoting St. Lukes Military Hopspital, Halifax, Newark Castle & Bridge, and a photo of what looks like pontoon bridge training in barracks. Together with two school attendance medals from 1905/06, all boxed and menu's from post war reunions 1922-48.

Was this a bridge building unit?

What & where were they doing it?

237 Field Company was part of 41 Division and was raised in Reading.

If you go on the website 'The Long Long Trail', you will find out the tasks of a Field Company and details of 41 Division.
