seaJane Posted 19 February , 2015 Share Posted 19 February , 2015 I attended the Ash Wednesday evensong in Winchester Cathedral yesterday and took the opportunity for this photograph on the way along the path from the car. Thought people might like to see it. sJ
Stoppage Drill Posted 19 February , 2015 Share Posted 19 February , 2015 The Rifleman figure looks up at the West Window, and I have often wondered if there is any particular significance in that ? Anybody ? The West Window at Winchester is a jumble of pieces of stained glass, as it was deliberately destroyed by Parliamentary troops in the Civil War. The pieces were gathered and the window replaced after the Restoration, but presumably the jigsaw puzzle was too daunting a task and the pieces are simply put together haphazardly.
