Chris_Baker Posted 7 November , 2004 Share Posted 7 November , 2004 I have a soldier with two different dates of death: CWGC gives him as dying on 6 June 1918; Soldiers Died CD version gives 26 September 1918. I am inclined to believe CWGC, as usual. The battalion war diary gives no great detail for either time, but no major action was underway. A few men were gassed with Yellow and Blue Cross near Lievin on 6 June, and they were in reserve near Ablain St Nazaire in the September. If anyone has the original paper version of Soldiers Died for the King's (Liverpool Regiment) would they kindly check that this is not simply an error when the CD version was created? The man in question was 306470 Pte John Taylor Barnet, 12th (Service) Bn, the King's (Liverpool Regiment).
