Turner Donovan 17th Lancers

I don't know if any of you scallywags got to Tom Donovan before me and bought the 17th Lancers' Boer War/Great War history, but if you did, I am extremely annoyed with you.

On the other hand, Mrs B is extremely happy as she seems to think the money was a lot to spend.

Women, eh? It would have been an heirloom.

Good boy. If you're at the Dinner on Friday I'll stand you a beer. Well, it is free.

Nor me. A trifle dear as well. I'm sure another one will come along soon.

I shall look forward to that. See you tomorrow.

Right, that's most of the usual suspects rounded up, so we're still cyber-friends.

Good. Let's hope the free beer doesn't run out.

Hmmm, your not allowed to quote from Casablanca unless you sing the "La Marseillaise" in the style of Ingrid Bergman

It wasn't cheap.

Well it went in a day, when did Steve last see one?

Never.

Had the same problem with the 5th Lancers' history in Tom's last catalogue. I suspect I'm being stalked.

Or Mrs Broomfield is forcing Mr Donovan to lie ...

Hush those words and lips, how can you say such disreputable words about someone who you have had a fruitful relationship for so long.

As we all know Mr Donovan would never lie when it comes to books....

I've just re-read this post. It wasn't a denial, was it?

Sadly I was beaten to it .... however I managed to find a copy today from a certain Mr Sutcliffe - not the one in Broadmoor, the one in Norfolk and complier of a very excellent bibliography of military histories. It must be one of the hardest books to find

It will be digitised by May Day.

Incidentally Lancers 1915 Star roll completed today as well as Hussars. Dragoons starts tomorrow.

Maybe you should tell Mrs. B that you were going to buy the book then "flip it" for a nice profit & use it take her to a nice place for dinner or buy her small gift? But then again she may know you too well for that to ever have a chance of working!! BTW, wasn't me who got it either.
