delta Posted 7 November , 2004 Share Posted 7 November , 2004 Reading "Forgotten Voices of the Great War" (excellent book by the way) in which Capt Dunning of 24th Australian Bn tells of his part in the Battle of Broodseinde. Do pals know if there are any Australian websites who could tell me more about this unit and its formation
SMG65 Posted 7 November , 2004 Share Posted 7 November , 2004 DELTA 'The Anatomy Of A Raid', a book by Tony Spagnoly and Ted Smith is about an Australian raid on Celtic Wood, which is on Broodseinde Ridge. It mentions 24th Bn but not in detail. However the book is a good read and talks about the Battle of Broodseinde. SEAN
Blackblue Posted 7 November , 2004 Share Posted 7 November , 2004 I have the unit history mate. I will have a look tonight for you. The first stop should be the Australian War Memorial. http://www.awm.gov.au/units/unit_11211.asp Also try the Official History which is online at the AWM. http://www.awm.gov.au/histories/index.asp Rgds Tim
