An earlier book by this author was Izzat: Historical Records and Iconography of Indian Cavalry Regiments 1750-2007 by Ashok Nath 2009, published by the United Service Institution of India. ( http://www.usiofindia.org/Publications/Books/View/?bid=9 )

It was reviewed in the GWF thread IZZAT

Initially I wondered if I really needed this book and was it worth the cost, but I have come to use it much more frequently than I thought that I would.

It is a very good quick reference as to where Indian Army regiments and battalions served during the Great War, including the battalions formed during the war who were later disbanded without any formal historical information being recorded.

I recommend the book.

Having read Harry's comments and the reviews in Durbar and other places, I e-mailed Ashok on the e-mail address given by Harry, and have just completed a bank transfer for £75 plus P&P from Sweden (and extra £18).

And I've had an e-mail to say it's being despatched from Bangladesh and should be with me in 10 to 12 days.

My copy (No. 102 of 300) arrived this morning. Actually, it arrived on Thursday morning, but I had to collect it as the postie couldn't deliver it.

It looks, feels and smells superb.
