Terry Carter Posted 13 November , 2004 Share Posted 13 November , 2004 I spoke to a lady this afternoon whose relative (pte J Hinchmore) was killed on 15/9/16 with 10th Worcesters. I took it for granted he was killed on the Somme. Then when I got home I checked the CWGC site and found he is remembered on the Ploegsteert Memorial. Can any one give me a brief explanation of what the 10th Worcesters were doing a this time. Cheers Terry
CROONAERT Posted 14 November , 2004 Share Posted 14 November , 2004 Terry. Nothing spectacular. The Regimental history states that they were simply "holding the trenches to the south of the River Douve" with patrols working the banks of the river. Dave.
