Birthday recommendations

Scalyback

Recommended Posts

My birthday is fast approaching. Any recommendations on hard back books between £20 and £30? Interests include any links to Wales, territorial force and the army "system" in general. New or old in good condition.

Bernard I have your good books, just waiting for them to be signed.

If you don't already own it, Simpkin's Kitchener's Army: The Raising of the New Armies 1914-16

If you can spend some more money...Mitchinson's trilogy on the TF.

England's Last Hope, The Territorial Force 1908-14

Defending Albion, Britain's Home Army 1908-1919

The Territorial Force at War 1914-1918

Should tick three boxes.

Thank you both. Been a bit busy!

I think Mitchinson's trilogy on the TF, may swing it with my mother. I have done a fair bit of dog sitting for her.

  • 2 weeks later...

In the end the family plumped for

Simpkins Kitchener's Army

Bryn Own Welsh Militia & Volunteer Corps

Doyle/Foster British Army Cap Badges of the First world war.

Some reading to be getting on with. Cheers Pals
