mcfc1923 Posted 14 November , 2004 Share Posted 14 November , 2004 Afraid i seem to have lost my way around the corridors of the forum. Trying to find the thread regarding index cards, in order to see if there is one for a Thomas Cook, Man Reg. I have a fair amount of info on the man in question but would like to find out what medals he was entitled to. Tried the national Archives on the web for his MIC, am i going about it the wrong way?. any advice would be grateful jim
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 14 November , 2004 Share Posted 14 November , 2004 With such a Common name as Thomas Cook you ideally need his Army Number on his Medals to confirm that that is the TC you are seeking,I expect there will be more than just the one in the Manchester Regiment,By searching the NA with Thomas/Tom Cook Manchester you will suceed in reducing your options, but without other details you are limited in being able to confirm its your Thomas, without further data
mcfc1923 Posted 14 November , 2004 Author Share Posted 14 November , 2004 HarryBetts, I have his number etc, but would not be able to order or download the MIC because i don't have a credit card, but i did find the thread wher pals offered index cards that was of no use to them, but was unable to find any to the name of Cook. Although ther was one of the pals on the thread that offered to obtain them for £1.50 (think it was that price) plus a copy. So i suppose my best bet is to try and contact him and see if the offer is still open. The only thing is that the thread is about 3 weeks old, but no harm in trying i suppose. cheers jim
