2 slightly O/T Russian books

These are two Russian books that deal with the Russian Civil war period and after:

High Treason: Essays on the history of the Red Army 1918-1938 Vitaly Rapoport and Yuri Alexseev deals with the Red Army in the Civil war and after. Written clandestinely and printed in the West in the 1980s. Stalin is severely criticized.

Afghanistan Preparing for the incursion into Afghanistan to Attack India 1919-1920 Andrei Evgenievich Snesarev this just came out and I haven't read it but, it does give you a look at Afghanistan from the Russian point of view during the early post WW I period. Note Snesarev was a ex-Tsarist army general who was an expert on this area.
