He was commissioned 2nd Lt on 11/8/92, Lt 11/8/96, Capt 29/6/00, Major 28/5/10 and was awarded a brevet Lt Colonelcy on 15/2/15. He was mentioned in despatches 19/10/14, 22/6/15, 4/1/17, 4/12/17 and had the 1914 Star. He was also wounded. His DSO was gazetted on 1/1/17. I suspect that he spent most of the war on the Staff.

I'm sure that Dick Flory can fill in other details.

Great stuff. Thank you. You are undoubtedly right regarding his Christian name: the initials I had were from a signature on a letter.

The letter is a recommendation for an award to a man in 61st (2nd South Midland) Divisional Signals Company RE. I've checked out the Divisional staff positions butcouldn't see him. Any other ideas?
