just received today some information on frank finan. i got an email from the irish guards today it states that he joined the irish guards and after 2 days transferred to the connacht rangers. does this sound odd to anyone. they also told me that there is no details of his war service recorded within his documents. another thing i found out from a forum member was that he was a aircraft mechanic 2nd class in the royal flying corps. how then did he end up in a infantry regiment to the r.f.c and back to the sherwood foresters. i know some forum said that they transferred men when they were needed .but this seems strange.
