eviltaxman Posted 18 November , 2004 Share Posted 18 November , 2004 I was doing a bit of digging - as you do - and came across this useful bit of info. I don't how accurate it is, but being the BBC and that they are quoting info from CWGC, I think it is 99% OK. The BBC Leicester site has a list of all those in the Leics Regiments who died in both wars..... thought it may be useful to a few of you. BBC Leicester Cheers, Les. Guest Chris Wallis Posted 18 November , 2004 Share Posted 18 November , 2004 Hi Les, I've just been onto the BBC Leicester site that you suggested and found my Great Uncle's name is there. I recently found (after months of searching) and visited where he is commemorated in the Pozieres memorial. If you're interested his name was Serjeant George Cross. He was actually killed in 1918 not 1916 as I have a field sevice postcard he sent to his sister ( my Grand mother ) in 1917. Thanks for the info. Regards Chris W.
