Guest billysiv Posted 18 November , 2004 Share Posted 18 November , 2004 service number z 384 Anyone find the above on the Birmingham Census Address was Irvine St off Bristol St Need any details DOB residents in the house etc. Also would he have been a regular serving with the Rifle brigade in India before WWII. He was 44 when killed on 18/4/15. age 44yrs Commemorated on the Menin Gate. He was the elder brother of my wifes gdad who we never knew he had. Suspect he joined the Rifle Brigade as a regular soldier following in his fathers footsteps who had served with the 1st Kings Royal Rifles at the Relief of Ladysmith Tugela Heights and Relief of Chitteral. Stephen Nulty Posted 19 November , 2004 Share Posted 19 November , 2004 Bill No luck, I'm afraid. I have six living in West Brom, aged 48, 39, 37, 24, 18 and 13, plus a 10 year old in Birmingham. But your information suggests he would have been about 29 in 1901. Do you have any more informatuion on the family? What was your wife's g-dad called?
