Sparky53 Posted 23 November , 2004 Share Posted 23 November , 2004 Great Uncle Corporal Richard Ridge MM RFA He is the only one who's service record I can find but it appears incomplete. He joined 109 Bde 29 Jan 1915. I cannot find a citation for the MM - he was Gazetted 23.02.18. When he was invalided out with GSW he was in 110 Bde. Whether the wounds were related to the MM I don't know. Does anyone know if the actual records can be viewed at the Archive rather then the microfilm? Thanks Jane
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 23 November , 2004 Share Posted 23 November , 2004 Alas not - records on microfilm is all that is available. His file may have been thinned or partly destroyed during the fire at Arnside Street. MM citations are not usually included in the London Gazette, however they sometimes do appear in War Diaries. Check the diairies of the Units he served with the WO 95 series.
