Visiting The Fallen Arras North and South by Peter Hughes

Anyone got these/ read them? Are they any good, are the worth the £20 price tag?

Hi Michelle,

I do not have them but have browsed through them. They are VERY cemetery orientated. If you want to know what happened during the battle and why then these aren't the books for you. However, if you are looking for vignettes from the Arras battlefield cemeteries then you won't go far wrong. I'll probably add them to my library in due course but am in no immediate rush. It certainly appears that the author has put in a great deal of diligent work over the years. I recall there was a review of one of the books in a recent Stand To! which may help you further.
