Blackblue Posted 7 December , 2004 Share Posted 7 December , 2004 Have you downloaded their Medal Index Card's? If not you can access them here: http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...1&resultcount=1 http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...1&resultcount=1 If you post the cards someone may be able to give you more information as to what units they were in. Interestingly there is a Captain Gerald Goldie-Taubman of the Royal Garrison Artillery listed as KIA and a Lt Cecil Goldie-Taubman of the South Lancashire Regiment listed as winning an MC. Any relation to your men? Rgds Tim D
Stephen Nulty Posted 7 December , 2004 Share Posted 7 December , 2004 Haven't the Taubmans or the Goldie-Taubmans been discussed in a recent thread associated with coming from IOM? I found an entry in the 1891 census which may be of interest. Living in Eastbourne, Sussex, is a Taubman family including a 3 year old Reginald and 1 year old Harry. Wonder if these are your men? All the family have a middle initial of "G". Could be Goldie? Steve
manxmangt Posted 7 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 7 December , 2004 Tim, thanks, yes all members of the same family. Steve, a great result, all middle names Goldie, for some unknown reason they didn't register under the family name of Goldie-Taubman, there is a sinister reason for this Many thanks to both of you.
