berty199 Posted 26 August , 2016 Share Posted 26 August , 2016 Recently ordered a 2nd hand copy of Charles Carrington's 'Soldier from the Wars Returning' - however, after a 2 week wait the supplier has informed me that the book has been returned to them 'damaged in transit' and is no longer in a fit state to be sold. Sadly it was their only copy too. So, they've kindly offered me the chance of choosing an alternative from their inventory for the same price of £0.01 (+ postage) Tricky one isn't it.... David Filsell Posted 26 August , 2016 Share Posted 26 August , 2016 No. If you really want the book ask them how much for the damaged copy and get refund for the balance. Or look far simpler, take your refund and look on abe books where there are copies of the book you actually want, literally, for sale for pennies

Black Maria Posted 26 August , 2016 Share Posted 26 August , 2016 (edited) I sold twenty of my unwanted books ( mostly ww1 hardbacks) at the boot fair recently for £2 each . I do usually try and sell them on Amazon but it's not worth trying to sell some of them on there when the lowest price is 1p, even if they were in better condition. ps. Most of the ones I sold are now for sale on e-bay Edited 26 August , 2016 by Black Maria
