Greg Posted 8 December , 2016 Share Posted 8 December , 2016 I came across the Qatar Digital Archives by accident . They have lots of digitised India Office and Government of India files which seem to have made their way to Qatar through the Resident Some relate to First World War (and its aftermath) matters The following for example relate to arms and the sale of First World War arms to Afghanistan http://www.qdl.qa/en/search/site/arms?f[0]=document_source%3Aarchive_source&f[1]=cpf%3APolitical%20Resident&retain-filters=1 http://www.qdl.qa/en/search/site?page=3&f[0]=document_source%3Aarchive_source&f[1]=place%3AAfghanistan Well worth a look Greg
MaureenE Posted 8 December , 2016 Share Posted 8 December , 2016 Currently, all the digitised material on the Qatar Digital Library is from the British Library The following on Mesopotamia are linked on the FIBIS Fibiwiki page Mesopotamia Campaign http://wiki.fibis.org/index.php/Mesopotamia_Campaign Click on the coloured text in the following Report by Brigadier W. The British Library also holds two maps published in conjunction with the report. The above are from the India Office Records Military Department Library IOR/L/MIL/17 Some of the component categories are L/MIL/17/13 North-West Frontier, Baluchistan L/MIL/17/14 Afghanistan, Central Asia, Tibet L/MIL/17/15 Iran, Iraq, Persian Gulf L/MIL/17/16 Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Cyprus. However, I cannot find a way to search by British Library reference, even though there is information on the website that this can be done.
