Angrybudgie Posted 30 December , 2016 Share Posted 30 December , 2016 I have my eye on a "Brodie" for sale at a reasonable price and as far as I can see it appears the real deal. However the stamp is bothering me. It appears to be MLS-19, & I haven't been able to track that particular stamp down to any manufacturer. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Paddy 60th Posted 30 December , 2016 Share Posted 30 December , 2016 I think that MLS refers to the steel supplier as Miras Steel Ltd of Sheffield. Could you post some pics of the helmet and I might be able to give you some more information on it ? Roger

Angrybudgie Posted 31 December , 2016 Author Share Posted 31 December , 2016 Thanks for that, it was niggling me & I couldn't remember what I used to know. Attached are photos. I'm thinking my maximum will be about $350, above that will be too rich. Elizabeth
Jerry B Posted 31 December , 2016 Share Posted 31 December , 2016 I used to own a MLS made example, no problem with it being period.
Paddy 60th Posted 31 December , 2016 Share Posted 31 December , 2016 Hi Elizabeth, A nice looking, good condition helmet just a shame it lacks the chinstrap, These fetch anything from £150 to £250 in the UK. Roger
aef1917 Posted 31 December , 2016 Share Posted 31 December , 2016 The rivet holding the liner in looks a bit odd, both from inside the helmet and outside. I think perhaps the liner has been replaced.
Angrybudgie Posted 31 December , 2016 Author Share Posted 31 December , 2016 Thanks a lot for your input. Now to see if I can get it or not. Luck & how desperately someone wants to part with too much money will be the thing. I have my limit & will stick to it. But you can't account for those who have a rush of blood to the head. Angrybudgie Posted 1 January , 2017 Author Share Posted 1 January , 2017 Missed out by $5. But had to stick to my limit. Maybe next time & who knows, prices might drop in the next few years.
