Henry Dinham Drew

I have been emailed by the great nephew of Henry Dinham Drew.  HDD was CO 5RTR in the Second World War and went on to (briefly) command a Bde.  But it is his Great War service that I am trying to find out about.  The great nephew thinks HDD was in the MGC but that's about it.  I have tried the usual Google searches but have drawn a blank.  Any help much appreciated as ever.

Regret, away from Ancestry/FMP/BNA at the moment.  H.D. Drew, commissioned temp 2Lt, 8th (Service) Bn, The Devonshire Regiment, as from 8th September 1914 (Army List,October 1914). There are 2 other Drews commissioned into the Devonshires- related?  No sign of a spearate service file for 14-18-as his service continued after the war that's probably why.

An odd reference from "Discovery":  Was he possibly a POW????
