eskimo Posted 17 December , 2004 Share Posted 17 December , 2004 Hi pals, Trip to Worcesters family history records office today came up trumps. In the archives under Worcester Hearld August 1918. August 17th...Gnr Jack Stinton RFA. who had been 3yrs in France and had been wounded 3 times was again seriously wounded in action on July 27th by gunshot in both legs and one arm and died on August 10th at Boulogne. Also found out that another Uncle of mine served Gnr Percy J Stinton RAMC 2yrs plus in France. Just needed to share my excitement after 5 yrs tracing him, found out date of wounding and serverity of wounds. Just one question 3 times wounded before death you'd have thought he'd done is bit for King and country is this number of woundings common, he also moved around the RFA 241,243,165,brigades. He gets my gallantry medal anyway! Regards Eskimo
Chris_Baker Posted 17 December , 2004 Share Posted 17 December , 2004 Just brilliant, Eskimo. I know how hard it is to get details of artillerymen, if you can't find their service papers. From the descendant of another 243 Bde gunner!
