The Welsh at Mametz Wood

Just read this but am no expert.

 

Searched the forum but it doesn't appear to have been discussed but only mentioned along with Dr Jonathan Hicks although a few have read it.

 

I thought it revised the opinion of the 38 Division (Welsh) which Haig and Price-Davies had after the battle but not strongly enough and perhaps the slur will never die.

 

And not much comment from Ivor Philipps.  Did he just accept his dismissal without ever rebutting it?  Maybe there was nothing he could say.

 

Anyone care to comment further or post the thread if it has been discussed.
