Canadawwi Posted 21 December , 2004 Share Posted 21 December , 2004 Hi! The attestations for this man may be viewed here: Solomon Pte. Solomon was born in Birmingham, England, and gave a Montreal address when he enlisted. He worked as a salesman. I don't have any articles about him as most of my stuff is from the Toronto area. (Incidentally, I have about 5 obituaries for Jewish Canadian soldiers). The 15th Battalion was a famous Canadian unit - many of the members were formerly with the 48th Highlanders, although as the war went on - they would have been reinforced by other units. The 15th lost many men at Ypres in April 1915. Hope that is helpful. Marika
robbie Posted 21 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 21 December , 2004 Thanks sooooooo much Marika. Intersting that he was buried several hundred miles from where he was born, and that he gave a Montreal address at enlistment. Robbie
