Guest Riwest Posted 27 December , 2004 Share Posted 27 December , 2004 I was hoping that someone could help. I'm tracing an ancestor of mine (Harry Scoles) who was from Little Lever in Lancs and was killed near the end of the War. From CWGC I have found an H. Scholes (no. 22817) of the Loyal N. Lancs who died 31/10/18 but would like to know if it is the Harry Scholes I'm searching for. By knowing either where he was from (eg. where he enlisted) and/or his parents' name/address I could confirm. Is there any other information source available, eg. regimental records / books / diaries that could assist ? best wishes, Richard West.
eviltaxman Posted 27 December , 2004 Share Posted 27 December , 2004 Richard, Checking the online Medal Index Cards, it would appear that H Scholes, 22817 is/was Harold Scholes....... could be your man. Les.
stiletto_33853 Posted 27 December , 2004 Share Posted 27 December , 2004 Hi Richard, Soldiers died in the great war gives 4 Harold Scholes, 3 from Lancs and 1 from Yorkshire. The one you think might be him the only extra info is enlisted in Bradshaw, Lancs. Andy
