SCOTTISH HOSPITAL .

<_< I'm trying to trace the correct hospital at which my grandfather was sent after being wounded at 'Arras'. The story goes that when he was wounded another solder told him that if he came from the South he would be sent to the North , and if he came from the North he would be sent to the South . Even though he came from the south he told his carers that he came from the North in the hope that he would be sent nearer home . He was subsequently sent to SCOTLAND . - That tought him !!!! His details are below in the hope that someone more knowledgable than myself can help me track his whereabouts .

Pte. Thomas William Shurey .

wounded whilst serving with the 16th battalion Middlesex regiment (although he could have been posted back to the 6th battalion).

He was wounded at 'Arras' on the 24/4/1917 .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Steve .
