Gary Samson Posted 30 December , 2004 Share Posted 30 December , 2004 One of my local men - G/2649 Cpl Leonard Beslee of the 7th (Service) Bn, the Buffs - was awarded the Military Medal for "gallant conduct and devotion to duty in the field on August 7th, 1918, near Morlancourt" while attached to a trench mortar battery. How safe is it to assume this battery would have been that of the 55th Brigade, to which the 7th Buffs were attached, rather than any of the other TM batteries in the 18th Division?
