Village at War & Tales from the Pool

Hi Everyone,

I received two good books for Christmas, both my Mike Royden, the first , "Tales from the Pool" whilst essentially about Liverpool it has two good paragraphs, one about the Pals Battalions and another regarding Captain Noel Chevasse, which contains some interesting information about the 10th Battalion (Liverpool Scottish).

The second book entitled "Village at War" , is essentially about the men and women from the village of Farndon near Chester in Cheshire both in the armed services and also on the home front, covering those soldiers who didn't survive and those that did.

Whilst I regard it as a reference book to keep, I would also recommend it to anyone with an interest in the First World War whether a deep or fleeting interest.

Regards.

Derek.
