Has anyone read the above, and if so recommend it as a good addition to the literature on the battle of Verdun?

Many thanks

If this is the Robert T Foley book then I've read it and found it good, although it is a long time ago now. The bulk of the book is about how the Germans came to fight the battle of Verdun going back to the lessons the Germans took from 1870 and 1871, I think the last third of the book is about Operation Gehricht itself, and then it is at an operational level; I don't think there is much about the troops' experience of the battle.

Pete.
