Wexflyer Posted 10 April , 2018 Share Posted 10 April , 2018 (edited) I thought I should alert the fine members of this forum to an unusual work, on an obscure subject: a history of the US Navy Air Station Wexford, from 1918-1919. The book is entitled "Wings Over Wexford", with subtitle "USN Air Station Wexford", by local historian Liam Gaul. Published in 2017 by The History Press Ireland. ISBN 979 0 7509 8351 8 with 154 pages and numerous illustrations. I note that a relic of the USN Air Station is still extant - the "Yankee slip", in Ferrybank, which was used to launch and recover the Curtiss H-16 seaplanes. The airbase, which became operational in September 1918, was instrumental in precipitating the final German surrender in November The Edited 10 April , 2018 by Wexflyer
