Gardenerbill Posted 18 June , 2018 Share Posted 18 June , 2018 I have just finished reading Richard Van Emden's book 'The Road to Passchendaele' and what an excellent book it is, for those of you like myself who have read and enjoyed some of his other works such as ‘Tommy’s War’ and ‘The Somme’ you will not be disappointed. As a counterpoint to the traditional historic battle books, the personal details here give a vivid account of what it was like to actually be there, at times tragic and moving or just plain miserable. I highly recommend this book and I got my copy from The Works for the bargain price of just £6.
