The Road to Passchendaele by Richard Van Emden

I have just finished reading Richard Van Emden's book 'The Road to Passchendaele' and what an excellent book it is, for those of you like myself who have read and enjoyed some of his other works such as ‘Tommy’s War’ and ‘The Somme’ you will not be disappointed. As a counterpoint to the traditional historic battle books, the personal details here give a vivid account of what it was like to actually be there, at times tragic and moving or just plain miserable. I highly recommend this book and I got my copy from The Works for the bargain price of just £6.

Hello all.

Picked it up Saturday myself, so only at the Winter Wonderland chapter tonight.

A really good read as they say.

Cheers all.
