Piscator Posted 12 January , 2005 Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Whilst browsing in the National Archives, I came across this person with the same name and initials as my Grandfather, its most unlikely to be him but I was interested in the letters which indicated their disability. the letters were D A H. Does anyone have any idea what these mean, there were a number of people with the same letters stemming from the Great War period, there were also some with G SW( gunshot wounds I presume) some killed in action, and others registered as missing. steve140968 Posted 12 January , 2005 Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Len , i think you will find that GSW denotes either gun shot wound , shrapnel wound or shell fragment wound . It was not intended to be too detailed , only type of wound and where . Regards , Steve .
