Doug504 Posted 6 September , 2018 Share Posted 6 September , 2018 Also looking for a copy of this memoir. Originally a private circulation, appears in some Australian library lists but can’t find a source in the UK . Anyone know of one? Woodward, 0.H., The War Story of Oliver Holmes Woodward, Captain, First Australian Tunnelling Company AIF, 1932. Doug
BFBSM Posted 7 September , 2018 Share Posted 7 September , 2018 Doug, I don't have a copy of the book, but am willing to spend some time at the State Library of Victoria to copy relevant sections. Mark
Doug504 Posted 8 September , 2018 Author Share Posted 8 September , 2018 That’s a fantastic offer Mark much appreciated. I’m particularly interested in the period the 1st Australian Tunnelling spent at Hill 60, from November 1916 - June 1917. I have the War diary for that period and weekly mine reports but Woodward’s memoir will add additional information. I would also be interested in any associated Maps / plans of that area + period. I’m working on a long running project about Hill 60 so please do not feel under any time pressure and make it fit in with your plans etc, but it is much appreciated. If you p.m. me I’ll send you my E-mail address. Again many thanks for your kind offer. Doug

Doug504 Posted 16 September , 2018 Author Share Posted 16 September , 2018 Frev / Maureen, thanks for this source, this is a new one for me and another useful tool for research. I’ll also take this opportunity to publicly thank Mark for the time and effort he put in copying relevant pages of documents for me. Fantastic to think there are forum members out there who will go out of their way to assist another with their research in this way. Doug
