Guest Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 To the list, being new, i wish to find out more about a Photograph i have which has been given to me by my granfather. The photograph is of my grandfather WOI(S M I) JJ PAGE readiing the names of the fallen & feild marshall Montgomery of alamein is unveiling the plaque with the names. I am not sure of the date but believe it is around 1945 to 46. It is at Aldershot. the photo was by Gale & Polden Ltd. This is signd by Feild Marshall Montgomery, not in ordinary ink, but in a Green ink. my understanding is that he only used green ink on important occasions. my question to the list is, is this photograph of value as in respect of insurance purpose, or not. I also have orders given in green ink as well, on a separate piece of Paper. i would appreciate any comments & or help on the above matter regards Mike PAGE
