MerchantOldSalt Posted 28 August , 2019 Share Posted 28 August , 2019 Search for HMS Lucia on the internet, there is plenty of information about her career as a submarine depot ship and repair ship, her sale in the late 1940s to continue her career as a merchant Ship, "Sinai" , and eventual scrapping in La Spezia in 1951 Tony
Carmania Posted 29 August , 2019 Share Posted 29 August , 2019 She was built in 1907, 3899 tons. A Hamburg-America Line ship. Became a submarine depot ship I believe. Aled

MerchantOldSalt Posted 30 August , 2019 Share Posted 30 August , 2019 Just for interest here is a picture of Spreewald when in the colours of the Hamburg American Packet Co. flying the Handelsflagge, German Mercantile Ensign, at the stern! Quite a few changes were made to refit her as a Depot Ship but still recognisable. Tony
